“My parents decided to immigrate to Australia in the hope that us kids would grow up in an equal and inclusive society. Which we did. What I love most about this country is its wonderful diversity. It is by far our strongest asset.
It saddens me that in recent times the attitude towards new migrants and asylum seekers seems to have shifted from the warmth and acceptance that my family experienced to that of fear and suspicion.
At the end of the day acceptance is the one thing that we all long for, no matter who we are or where we come from. To feel welcome.

And that is why I am so very proud to be a part of the beautifully positive initiative that is Welcome to Australia. I look forward to extending the warm welcome to all who wish to call Australia home.
